Have You Adapted to Working and Schooling Remotely?

Fast-paced business in a slow-paced home school environment – Stressed? Yes. Pulling your hair out?  Yes.  Zoom call with clients?  Yes.  Kids need help with school assignments?  Yes.  We are all being pulled on in one direction or another.  Yes, we are in all the same boat with the pandemic right now.  Waking up early with the kids to get them going with school and seeing our calendar of work tasks for the day, has made the days very long.  How many times have you looked at your clock and realized it is only 11 am in the morning and you have already had a full day of work, calls, teaching, cooking, and cleaning.  The days seem long but with so much going on, it zooms by (no pun intended).

Steady the Course

We all have our hats in life and even our children must wear their own.  However, with the lines being crossed currently with work/school/home life, our time has been blurred.  This is where time-management steps in.  We know this might be temporary and some of us cannot imagine what normal looks like, but we must also accept to make the best of both worlds right now.  We are business owners, leaders, teachers, cooks, housekeepers, etc.…You probably have heard this before, but everything can be achieved based on your perspective.  Mixing two different life’s together, work and family, can be attained only by working as one unit.  Sometimes, staying up late to finish school assignments because we literally had 20 calls that day and was unavailable to assist our child, is perfectly OK.

Be Consistent

With that being said, don’t be hard on yourself and set reasonable expectations. Remember you are maneuvering in a fast-paced business world but with slow-paced home life.  It takes patience and perseverance and a talent to know which hat needs to be put on for the day.  So, slow down and enjoy the ride!
